So, just close your eyes now, and allow yourself to relax and let go. And I want you to begin to breathe very slowly and deeply. In through your nose and out through your mouth. Slowly and deeply, breathing away any tension with every slow out-breath.
Just relax, more and more, and with every word you will begin to feel more and more relaxed, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. And you become aware of all the tiny muscles in and around your eyes. Just feel those tiny muscles loosen and relax.
Your eyelids have become heavy and tired and any tension in your forehead has disappeared as all the muscles there are loose and relaxed. And all the muscles in your jaw have become totally relaxed, and your tongue rests gently on the bottom of your mouth.
And you begin to drift down, deeper and deeper relaxed with every word. You become aware of a feeling of comfort, spreading down through your body into your neck and shoulders, letting go of any traces of tightness or tension.
You feel any sense of stresses or strains begin to disappear as this wave of relaxation continues on down, into your arms, and all the way down into your fingertips, and you may even feel a tingling sensation in your fingertips…
Deeper and deeper relaxed! And you become aware of a deep peaceful feeling inside, a feeling of calmness and contentment, of safety and security.
And now every muscle in your chest and stomach is loose and relaxed and free of any tightness. And the muscles in your back are relaxing too, one by one, all the way down your spine, you feel the muscles totally relax on after another, letting go of any last traces of tension.
And as you drift down, deeper and deeper relaxed. This wave of relaxation spreads all the way down through your body, into your legs, into your thigh muscles and your calves, down to your feet. Deeply relaxed. Until this feeling of deep relaxation engulfs your whole body, from your head to your toes.
And as the outside world fades away, the only words that matter now are the relaxing words in my voice. You can hear me inside you. My words written into your bones. Carved into your contours.
My words, as you read them, you feel them mixing inside you. They’re caught in your breath and alive in your blood. You can feel them spreading over your tongue, filling your mouth and promising more.
These words, they scrape and scratch, nip and nibble, lick and stroke. They want you. They need you. They’re coming for you, they come in through your eyes and spread out through your fingertips, you can taste them in your mouth and on your tongue, you can feel them coming off the page.
And in a few moments, I’m going to count down from ten to one. And I want you to imagine that with every number you are floating down through ever deeper and deeper levels of mental and physical relaxation, almost like you are weightless…
A leaf turning in the air, falling through the forest of our woodland dreams. Gently floating down through a dream like inner world that leads to the pure innocence and genius of the once little girl held tight inside of you.
